Thank you are powerful words that still don't fully express my gratitude, humility, and appreciation to each student who chose me for the Northup Award. I am honored by this recognition that reminds me that humanity in medicine is a daily commitment to collaboration - me with my students, and students with their peers, patients, and communities.


Dr. Muldoon on being an educator:
Change is a both a calling and a creative process. I am grateful that as a medical educator, I have been able to hold space for imagination. We have the ability to craft the worlds we cannot live without. Together we create a future in health care that is a little more humanistic, more empathetic, a little safer, and a little happier for everyone.

Stop CMV AZ:
I am proud to participate in movements that acknowledge disability as a holistic experiencenot just a physical diagnosis, but a lived identity and an evolving part of the human experience. As co-founder of Stop CMV AZ, a parent, and a medical educator, I have used our story to effect meaningful change in health professions education and public health to educate the public about congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV), support the children and families impacted by cCMV, and advocate for those who need our voice in the state of Arizona and beyond.
